Foundation and Powder: tips for flawless finish

The most important step is to chose the right color. Pick one that matches the color of your jawline exactly.
Dot the foundation on your cheeks, forehead and chin using a foundation brush, sponge, or clean fingertips and blend all the way to your hairline with long, light strokes. Continue blending over the jawline and onto your neck to achieve a natural, seamless look. Check your face and neck in natural light to make sure the foundation is completely blended in all areas. The product should disappear.

To give your face a velvety, natural finish, follow with a light, even dusting of loose powder. Dip your puff or powder brush in loose powder, shake or tap off excess to avoid uneven distribution, and apply powder over entire face and neck.

To maintain a flawless finish throughout the day, apply pressed powder as needed using a sponge or clean powder brush.

TIPS:
  • If you are over the age of 30, avoid powdering under the eyes as it can emphasize the fine lines and wrinkles. Try to use powder on you T-zone only.
  • For the best color match, choose a powder that is slightly lighter than your foundation.
  • If you can see the product, you've used too much or need to blend your powder into your foundation to make it look natural.
The products seen here are wet/dry powder, loose powder, and cream to powder. These are all secretAGEnt products that are antiaging and matches exactly with your skin. Please check the colors carefully or call or email the Consultant for a personal makeover. Our mineral powder is also available.

Primer and concealer

Use the primer to even out skin tone and prepare your skin by hiding discolorations and smoothing out pores. You can use this all over the face or just under your eyes for dark circles. Apply and blend with sponge.
The concealer is denser than the primer and is a must for covering trouble spots, blemishes, red areas and dark circles. Us you ring finger to apply concealer then lightly pat to blend at the edges. Remember, a little goes a long way. Use a concealer that is darker than your skin so it will even out over the primer.
You can choose from a mauve, mint or yellow primer depending on your skin tone.

TIPS:
  • Yellow primer is grea for black or blue undertones such as those found under the eyes. Mint helps tone down the appearance of reddish skin, mauve helps warm up yellow undertones and natural primer is for all skin tones to smooth over pores and fine lines for a flawless look. The natural primer will make your skin feel silky smooth.
  • Dark concealers can also be used for contouring. Here's how: Pat along either side of the bridge of the nose to narrow the look of the nose. Brush under the cheekbones to make cheeks appear more angular.
  • When choosing your concealer color pick one that matches your skin tone or is lighter. It helps to use a mirror outdoors to see how colors look on your skin in natural light.

Beautiful skin for life

Today I am starting a series to help you obtain beautiful skin for life. We do this by starting with the 3-step approach:
  1. Maintenance products: For the skin you can see. This includes the cleanser, scrub, toner and moisturizer that we talked about earlier.
  2. Repair products: For the skin you cannot see. This includes exfoliators, buffing cream, peptides and vitamins to help slow the signs of aging and reveal newer and younger looking skin.
  3. Prevention products: This is for the skin you will see. Protect your skin with sunscreen and antioxidants to help prevent future deterioration.
Tips for today:
  • The sun is the biggest factor in producing wrinkle and aging your skin. Always wear sunscreen. Always, even in the winter.
  • Stress can cause breakouts and acne by releasing stress hormones that increase oil production. It is important to get adequate sleep and exercise to relieve stress and give and give you clear-looking skin and an increased sense of well-being
  • It is vital to drink a lot of water to keep your skin hydrated and flush out toxins to keep your skin clear.
  • Good nutrition is also important. Fresh fruits and vegetables, especially Vitamin C, help maintain good health inside and out.
Our featured products are the Skinlogics Maintenance products, Repair products (dermabrasion), and Prevention products (Cell C products etc.)
